Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has awarded Major General Felix Gidney, the seconded senior British officer, with the Oman Military Order (Second Class).
During a reception held today at his office, His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, presented the Order to Major General Felix Gidney, bidding him farewell as his work duties come to an end.
His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs expressed gratitude to Major General Felix Gidney for his efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Oman and the United Kingdom, and wished him continued success. In return, Major General Felix Gidney commended the strong relations between the two friendly nations and expressed his pride and appreciation for the cooperation he received during his tenure in Oman.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, and Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces.
