HH Sayyid Bilarab To Patronise Inauguration Of Royal Cars Museum

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has directed that HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said will lead the inauguration of the Royal Cars Museum at Al Barakah Palace tomorrow (Tuesday).

Following the Royal directives, the museum will be accessible to the public, aiming to showcase the luxury represented by the vehicles, their variety, and the Royal attention they have received over the years, serving as a source of inspiration and interest for car enthusiasts.

The museum features an extensive collection of classic and rare automobiles, including several personal vehicles belonging to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. It also displays cars that were once owned by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the late Sultan Said bin Taimour, and the late Sayyid Tarik bin Taimour.

The concept for the museum was conceived in the early 1970s by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who had a deep passion for automobiles and began a collection of classic and unique cars. His interest was sparked by two vehicles that belonged to the late Sultan Said bin Taimour.

As a result, the vintage cars of the two late Sultans were gathered, along with a selection of modern and rare vehicles acquired during that period. In 2012, the museum building was established, providing a venue for showcasing these exceptional cars, although access had previously been restricted to guests of His Majesty the Sultan.
