Grand Mufti Of Oman Issues Statement On Aggression Against Yemen

Muscat: His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, has issued a statement concerning the violent aggression perpetrated by Zionist forces against Yemen.

In a statement, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman expressed, "We were taken aback by the violent aggression displayed by Zionist forces towards our fellow brothers in Yemen. This necessitates the solidarity of Muslims worldwide in supporting Yemen, as it is a nation of Islam, and any aggression against it is an affront to all Muslims."

"This aggression was precipitated by the stance of our Yemeni brothers in upholding truth and retaliating against the transgressions against Islamic sanctities and the sanctity of the blood of our Palestinian brethren in the occupied territories," he further elaborated.

"We extend our deepest sympathies to all the brothers in Yemen, to ourselves, and to the entire Muslim community. May God grant mercy to the martyrs and grant them a place in His vast gardens," His Eminence concluded.

On the same day, Israeli military aircraft targeted the Houthi-controlled port of Hodeidah in Yemen, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to over 80 others.

"The number of casualties from the Israeli assault on Hodeidah has increased to three martyrs and 87 wounded," the Houthi-operated Saba news agency reported Sunday, referencing the health ministry.

The strikes, which led to a devastating fire and billowing black smoke, mark the first reported by Israel in the Arabian Peninsula's most impoverished nation, approximately 2,000 kilometers from its location, according to analysts.
