MUSCAT: The culmination of the General Education Diploma (GED) examinations, attended by over 50,000 students from both Oman and abroad, is set to be officially announced at 4pm today (Thursday) under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed al-Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education.
Participating students will be able to access their results through a convenient short message service (SMS) platform, utilizing Omantel, Ooredoo, and Vodafone. Alternatively, they can opt to obtain their results by forwarding an SMS containing their seat number to (90200).
Furthermore, the results will be made available via the Educational Portal, enabling students and their families to easily monitor the announcement and receive updates at their convenience.
In a commendation of the students' achievements, Dr. Madiha recently granted the general scores for the GED examinations for the initial phase of the academic year 2023/2024. She extended her heartfelt congratulations to the participants, acknowledging the significant role played by their families in their academic journey and their aspirations.
In anticipation of the results day, numerous educational institutions had arranged for psychological counseling sessions to support students grappling with pre-results anxiety and stress. These sessions were well-received, with a significant turnout.
The Ministry of Education reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring the transparent, efficient, and accurate dissemination of results, underscoring the importance of prompt and precise resolution mechanisms.
A student from Al Alaa School in Batinah, Jassim al Fakhri, shared his experiences leading up to the examination period, describing his strategy reliance on time management and curriculum review, while acknowledging the critical role of familial support in mitigating stress.
Likewise, Sarah Ahmed, a student from Sharqiyah, highlighted the invaluable support she received through the counseling services offered by her educational institution. These sessions significantly assisted her in managing stress and offered practical studying tips.
Simultaneously, a number of students expressed their anticipations, mixed with feelings of anxiety and hope, aiming for outcomes that meet their expectations and the expectations of their families.
Meanwhile, educational experts have encouraged parents to continue their children's educational journey, regardless of the results, and to guide them towards seizing all available educational opportunities.
