Muscat: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, held a meeting with Zhang Lu, President of the International Zheng He Society, along with her delegation, during their visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The discussion highlighted the historical significance of the Chinese explorer Zheng He's journey to Oman, which took place 600 years ago.
The meeting underscored the importance of leveraging these historical connections to enhance the longstanding friendship between the Sultanate of Oman, Singapore (the society's headquarters), and China (the navigator's homeland).
Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Hosni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department at the Foreign Ministry, was also present at the meeting.
