Foreign Minister Receives EU Official

Muscat: On Thursday, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, welcomed Olof Skoog, the Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the European External Action Service.

The two parties emphasized the strong partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the European Union (EU), reaffirming their dedication to enhancing collaboration in diplomatic, political, economic, and technical areas.

They addressed the ongoing situation regarding the Ukrainian crisis and the Palestinian issue, particularly focusing on the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the need for a lasting ceasefire and the facilitation of humanitarian aid access.

In relation to the US-Iran discussions, the European representative praised Oman’s significant role and its relentless efforts in this context.

Both parties expressed optimism that these discussions would help bolster security, stability, and peace.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, was also present at the meeting.
