Embassy Of Oman In Bangladesh Celebrates The 54th National Day

Muscat: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Dhaka hosted a reception to commemorate the 54th National Day, under the esteemed presence of Abdul Ghaffar bin Abdul Karim Al Balushi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Asif Nadhrul, Advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Expatriates Affairs, alongside officials from the Asia Department and the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Bangladesh delivered a speech that reflected upon the vision and accomplishments of the Sultanate of Oman, particularly under the exemplary leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The speech highlighted the Sultanate's foreign policy, which is founded on principles of dialogue, tolerance, and the promotion of peace and harmony among nations.

The Ambassador underscored the depth of relations between the two friendly nations, emphasizing the commitment to further strengthen these ties in the economic and cultural spheres, with the aim of enhancing the welfare of both peoples. It was noted that the Sultanate of Oman is home to approximately 700,000 Bangladeshi residents and has signed two long-term agreements to supply Bangladesh with liquefied natural gas.

The reception featured visual presentations on the Omani Renaissance March and photographs of its ancient landmarks and monuments. Additionally, traditional Omani cuisine was served.

The event was attended by ambassadors from various Arab and foreign countries, heads and representatives of international organizations residing in Bangladesh, diplomats from the diplomatic corps in Bangladesh, Omani officers affiliated with the National Defence College and the Command and Staff College in Bangladesh, and a diverse group of individuals including businessmen, government and military officials, journalists, scholars, religious figures, and academics.
