Singapore: On Thursday, the US dollar reached an eight-week low against the yen and remained close to a one-month low against the pound.
The dollar index, which gauges the US currency's performance against the euro, pound, yen, and three other major currencies, was recorded at 107.57, not far from its overnight low of 107.29.
The dollar declined by 0.5% to 151.81 yen, marking its lowest point since December 12, 2024, following a 1.1% drop on Wednesday.
The pound held steady at $1.2509, while the euro remained unchanged at $1.0401 after a slight increase of 0.2% on Wednesday. The offshore yuan saw a minor appreciation, trading at 7.2775 per dollar.
