Sohar: On Sunday, the Directorate General of Education for North Al Batinah Governorate established a partnership with Ooredoo to equip the Liwa Science and Innovation Centre with a collection of robotics, thus advancing educational goals and facilitating their integration into teaching and training practices.
The agreement was formalized by Dr. Walid Talib Al Hashmi, the Director General of Education in North Al Batinah, alongside Aisha Salem Al Shuaili, the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Ooredoo.
Al Hashmi stated that this partnership signifies a crucial advancement in backing educational projects that will significantly aid in the enhancement of programming and artificial intelligence skills among students. He noted that the introduction of these robotics would create a hands-on and dynamic training atmosphere, preparing students for participation in robotics and AI contests, whether at local, regional, or international levels, thus improving the representation of the governorate’s students in scientific and innovative events.
Aisha Al Shuaili, in turn, highlighted that this project is in line with Ooredoo’s approach to nurture local communities and empower Omani youth in technological sectors. The goal is to cultivate a skilled generation that can meet the challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) via collaborations that promote synergy between public and private entities.
