CMA Symposium Calls For A National Common Manual To Determine Disability Rates In Medical Reports

Muscat: The second Insurance Issues Symposium was held by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) on Wednesday.

During the symposium, the participants emphasized the importance of implementing a national common manual to determine disability rates in medical reports. They also highlighted the significance of having dedicated departments at the courts to handle insurance-related matters.

These statements reflect the collective efforts of the symposium's organizers to address key issues in the insurance sector, streamline litigation procedures, and ensure justice and protection for insurance policyholders.

Under the patronage of Issa bin Hamad Al Azri, Secretary General of the Supreme Judicial Council, the symposium aimed to encourage the involvement of relevant stakeholders in addressing the challenges and concerns associated with the insurance industry.

Abdullah bin Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of the Capital Market Authority, expressed the organization's commitment to engaging all parties involved in the symposium to tackle the issues and challenges faced by the insurance sector. He also highlighted the Authority's approach of balancing pricing and providing flexibility to insurance companies in order to offer suitable services to policyholders.

Ahmed bin Ali Al Maamari, Executive Vice President of the Capital Market Authority, stated that the symposium aimed to enhance consultation and cooperation with relevant parties for the benefit of the public and the development of solutions for insurance-related issues, with the participation of the Supreme Judicial Court.

The symposium included discussions on the impact of court judgments on the insurance sector, as well as challenges and implications of court judgments in insurance, among other topics.
