Classes Suspended In Some Governorates Due To Expected Rain

Muscat: In response to the anticipated severe rainfall expected on September 30, 2024, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation has issued a directive suspending academic activities in educational institutions and transitioning to remote learning in several governorates across the Sultanate of Oman.

The Ministry has communicated in a formal statement: "In light of the information received from the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center concerning the potential for significant rainfall from this afternoon onwards in various wilayats located near the Al Hajar Mountains, spanning across the Governorates of South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, and the southern regions of Muscat Governorate."

It is with this notice that the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation hereby announces the suspension of academic activities in educational institutions and the transition to remote learning for the aforementioned governorates starting from this afternoon, September 30, 2024.
