Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) has reported the arrest of several individuals for hunting monitor lizards in the Dhofar Governorate.
In a statement released online, the EA noted, "Our specialists in Dhofar have successfully apprehended several citizens for engaging in an environmental offense, specifically the hunting of a monitor lizard. This act constitutes a direct violation of the Natural Reserves and Wildlife Conservation Law No. 6 of 2003. Legal proceedings are now underway against the offenders in line with the relevant laws and regulations."
