Muscat: The sixth season of the "Ma'rifa" program concluded today with a theatrical performance titled "Fingers of Jameel," presented by the esteemed Al-Dan Theater Troupe for Culture and Art. This event was graced by Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Children's Public Library.
The play, authored and directed by the talented artist Asaad Al-Siyabi, delves into the critical issue of bullying, with the objective of enlightening both children and society at large about its consequences and the significance of addressing this matter.
The production featured a group of exceptionally talented children who brought the characters to life, thereby adding a realistic touch that resonated with the audience's perspective as children.
The theatrical performance "Fingers of Jameel" was designed to deliver a message of awareness regarding the critical need to combat bullying and to promote the values of cooperation and tolerance among children.
It is important to highlight that the "Ma'rifa" program has spanned a full year, encompassing numerous events and workshops. This initiative is a comprehensive educational endeavor, supported by BP Oman for the sixth consecutive year, aimed at nurturing the capabilities of children through five primary tracks: literature, language and art, science and technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, health, safety and environment, and society.
This program has served over 1,800 beneficiaries, including children, parents, and individuals with an interest in children's literature. Its objectives include fostering a love for reading and creativity, enhancing scientific and technological awareness, and encouraging innovation and initiative among children.
Furthermore, the program seeks to raise awareness about the importance of health and safety, develop environmental consciousness, and reinforce community values and cooperation through its various tracks.
The initiative also offers integrated educational and entertainment experiences, contributing to the development of an educated and aware generation.
