The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has confirmed its preparedness to offer services to citizens, residents, and visitors of the Dhofar Governorate during the Khareef season 2024.
The CDAA has announced the approval of its operational plans for the Dhofar Khareef season in 2024, which involve enhancing its existing centers and deploying teams on the roads leading to Dhofar Governorate in Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Wusta governorates to address reports received by the operation, civil defense, and ambulance centers in the governorates.
In addition, two new junctions have been established on the coastal road connecting South Al Sharqiyah Governorate with Al Wusta Governorate, extending to Dhofar Governorate, along with five other junctions on the road from Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah Governorates leading to Dhofar Governorate to assist motorists.
The CDAA has urged institutions, companies, property owners, and building managers to comply with civil protection requirements by conducting facility maintenance, adhering to safety protocols, and other safety measures to minimize the risk of accidents.
Furthermore, the Authority will intensify its civil protection efforts by conducting facility inspections, monitoring violations, and taking necessary actions in this regard.
The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority is committed to increasing awareness across all sectors of society through its official social media platforms, distribution of awareness brochures, hosting events, and deploying field teams in various locations. The Authority also acknowledges the important role played by media outlets in enhancing preventive awareness among different segments of society.
The Authority urges visitors to adhere to safety guidelines while visiting the governorate, adequately prepare for their trip, maintain their vehicle, carry a first aid kit, ensure the fire extinguisher is in good condition, identify rest stops and fueling stations along the trip route, choose appropriate times to move and rest, and follow safety regulations.
Furthermore, the Authority emphasizes the importance of following safety instructions while in the Dhofar Governorate, including refraining from swimming in undesignated areas such as springs, water pools, and beaches due to high sea waves and water currents that intensify during the fall season. It is also advised to stay away from dangerous sites, waterfalls, and hazardous heights, and to monitor children and not leave them unattended in vehicles to ensure everyone's safety.
