Muscat: Hundreds of Indian students residing in Oman have successfully completed the Class 12 board examinations conducted by the Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the 2024–25 academic year. Students from Oman, India, and various other countries participated in the exams, which took place over several weeks.
This year, the examinations encompassed over 120 subjects across the Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams. Feedback from students and educators indicated that most papers adhered to the prescribed syllabus and presented a moderate level of difficulty.
In the Science stream, the biology and computer science papers featured a balanced combination of theoretical and practical questions. Commerce students found subjects such as accountancy and economics to be manageable, while Humanities students characterized the political science and history papers as clear and concept-driven.
Additionally, CBSE implemented updates to the question paper format this year, placing a greater emphasis on competency-based questions in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These modifications aim to foster critical thinking and diminish dependence on rote memorization.
With the examinations now concluded, the board is set to initiate the evaluation process. Students are encouraged to frequently visit the official CBSE websites for updates regarding the announcement of results, which local media reports suggest will be available in May.
