Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a license to “Tahleeq Drone Services” (LLC) for overseeing the registration and management of drone air traffic in the Sultanate of Oman.
This initiative is designed to improve air navigation safety and regulate drone activities within Omani airspace.
This action aligns with the events of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Week and the High-Level Ministerial Meeting scheduled from December 9 to 12, 2024.
The drone air traffic registration and management service, facilitated through the Serb platform, features an advanced digital system.
In its initial phase, the platform will prioritize the registration of recreational drone operators.
The platform provides a system for recording operator information, issuing licenses upon successful completion of a straightforward knowledge assessment, and permitting drone flights in designated safe zones in partnership with military and security authorities.
This service responds to the notable rise in drone usage by accelerating permit approvals and simplifying registration processes.
Furthermore, the platform monitors and tracks drone activities, ensuring robust security and protection against cyber threats. All data is stored on local servers, employing locally developed algorithms and software.
