NÜRBURGRING (GERMANY): Oman's AlFaisal AlZubair, along with teammates Jens Klingmann and Ben Tuck, have arrived at the Nürburgring with AlManar Racing by Team WRT to prepare. This Sunday marks the penultimate round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup powered by AWS.
The trio will compete in the endurance race in their AlManar Racing by Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO on the 5.1-kilometer GPStrecke track. They are currently second in the Teams' Championship behind Verstappen. com Racing and third in the Drivers' series, only one point behind the second-placed finisher. The CSA Racing trio includes Arthur Rougier, Simon Gachet, and James Kell.
AlZubair expressed his delight at being at the Nürburgring. We are approaching the championship final. This is the third round to last, the penultimate Endurance round, and then we have one more Sprint in Valencia before the final Endurance race in Barcelona.
"So far, we've done a great job of holding second place in the overall (Gold Cup) championship. It is not so easy with Some fierce opposition. For example, the Verstappen vehicle is also vying for a top ten, and maybe even the top five, finish in the overall standings. We have performed admirably, notably on the Endurance side, and I look forward to achieving more success before the end of the season."
Sixty-one cars and ten producers have registered for this weekend's 14th GTWC event, which will take place at the famed German track.
The Optimum Motorsport McLaren, Team RJN's McLaren, the Verstappen. com Racing Aston Martin, Garage 59 and CSA Racing McLarens, and the Paul Lamborghini, Tresor Attempto Racing's Audi, and the Herberth Motorsport and Wright Motorsport Porsches are among the sports cars on exhibit.
The GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup powered by AWS shares the race weekend with the GT4 European Series powered by RAFA Racing Club, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and McLaren Trophy Europe.
Free practice begins at 09.15 a.m. on Saturday (August 30), followed by prequalifying at 14.30 a.m.
The three qualifying sessions, which begin at 09.00hrs, 09.22hrs, and 09.45hrs, kick off a busy Sunday of action. The endurance race begins at 15.00hrs.
