Muscat: An air trough is anticipated to impact the northern governorates of Oman from Sunday, December 15, to Tuesday, December 17, 2024, resulting in scattered rainfall and various weather conditions, as reported by Oman Meteorology.
In a recent online announcement, Oman Meteorology stated: “Current weather maps and numerical forecasts suggest that an air trough will traverse the northern governorates from Sunday evening through Tuesday, bringing increased cloud cover and the likelihood of scattered rain. This may cause water flow in some valleys and ravines in the Musandam Governorate, parts of the Al Hajar Mountains, and along certain stretches of the Sea of Oman coastline.”
Forecasted Weather Conditions:
- Strong winds and dusty weather.
- Elevated wave heights along most coastal regions.
- A drop in temperatures.
- Potential frost on mountain summits.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant, especially in areas susceptible to flooding and strong winds. Mariners should be cautious of turbulent sea conditions, and drivers are advised to proceed with care due to possible reduced visibility from dust and rain.
