80.76% Students Clear GED Semester 1 Examinations

MUSCAT: On Thursday, Dr. Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, the Minister of Education, approved the overall performance indicators for the first semester exams of the General Education Diploma (GED) and its equivalents for the 2024/2025 academic year.

A total of 54,943 students, both male and female, participated in the GED examinations, achieving an overall success rate of 80.76%.

In detail, the ministry reported that 1,577 students from private bilingual schools took the GED Diploma exams, with a success rate of 91.05%. Additionally, 43 students from the Royal Guard of Oman Technical College completed the Technical General Education Diploma exams, achieving a perfect success rate of 100%. 

Furthermore, 121 students sat for the General Education and Islamic Sciences Diploma exams, also achieving a 100% success rate. In the Special Education segment, 61 students took the General Education Diploma exams, with a success rate of 88.52%. Lastly, 138 students participated in the General Vocational and Technical Education Diploma exams, attaining a success rate of 99.27%. 

Results will be accessible starting at 4 PM on Sunday, and can be obtained through Omantel, Ooredoo, and Vodafone. To receive the results, students must send a text message (SMS) with their seat numbers to 90200. The same results will later be published on the Oman Educational Portal.
