50 Engineers Pass Out From Government Projects Empowerment Programme

The Secretariat General of the Tender Board in Muscat recently celebrated the graduation of the inaugural group of engineers who completed the "Imkan" (Empowerment) program. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of professionals responsible for overseeing government projects and contracts.

A total of fifty engineers from various government entities participated in the 6-month training course, with the goal of establishing a more efficient and effective system that adds local value to the management of government projects.

The program includes specific criteria for evaluating the technical proficiency of different organizational units involved in project and contract management.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Eng. Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, the Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.

Eng. Badr Salim Al Ma’amari, the Secretary-General of the Tender Board, announced that the second phase of the program will commence later this year, accommodating 120 engineers from 13 government departments.

Abdullah Saif Al Hosani, the Talent and Competency Development Adviser at the Secretariat General of the Tender Board, highlighted that the program will address various challenges encountered in contracts and projects, such as delays, modifications, project setbacks, and prolonged implementation periods.
