32,625 Seats On Offer For Academic Session 2024-2025

Muscat: Throughout the academic year 2024-2025, a total of 32,625 seats have been allocated to eligible students across both government and private higher education institutions.

This number encompasses scholarships granted by the government for study within Oman and abroad, alongside grants provided by private sector entities and host countries that are more amenable.

Speaking from the perspective of the Higher Education Admission Centre at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Azri disclosed that the current capacity of academic seats within government educational institutions is positioned at 20,449.

In addition, a total of 11,573 seats were allocated via local scholarships and grants within the private higher education sector in Oman. Furthermore, the sum total of external scholarships for overseas study has been reported at 603.

Mr. Al Azri highlighted the initiation of new academic programs within scholarship contexts, both domestically and internationally, across a range of disciplines including artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable systems engineering, cybersecurity, emergency medical services, visual communication design, port management and sustainable shipping, and business administration, with sub-specializations in International Business and e-business. He noted that the period will commence with the amendment of these specializations on Monday, July 24, 2024, and conclude on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:30 pm.
