MUSCAT: Yusuff Ali M. A. , the mastermind behind Lulu Group International, has consistently acknowledged the significant potential found within Oman's workforce. The company's dedication to recruiting more Omani nationals serves as a fundamental aspect of its operations within the region.
He commended the professionalism, hard work, and commitment exhibited by Omani staff while sharing his thoughts on the expanding investment opportunities in the country and Lulu's crucial part in fostering the nation’s economic advancement.
"Oman's workforce represents one of its most valuable resources. Their punctuality and work ethic are exceptional," remarked the founder and chairman of Lulu Group International on Sunday. He made these comments during the Advantage Oman Forum 2025, which commenced at the St. Regis, where he had participated as a speaker in one of the forum sessions.
He noted, "We have over 3,500 Omani nationals employed across 36 locations throughout the Sultanate, and we are devoted to raising this figure. Our workforce is dedicated, honest, and industrious, and we are focused on their growth by investing in specific training initiatives. "
Yusuff Ali highlighted Lulu’s persistent efforts to equip Omani talent with the skills necessary for success in both retail and manufacturing industries.
He further pointed out the overall investment climate within Oman, referring to the country’s robust economy, secure atmosphere, and continuous developments in infrastructure.
“Oman has evolved into an investment destination, owing to its stable economy, secure surroundings, and ongoing infrastructure enhancements,” he stated. “The government’s proactive stance in fostering a conducive business environment creates significant opportunities in tourism, manufacturing, retail, and various other fields. ”
Lulu Group is also expanding its footprint in Oman, with aspirations for further growth. “Our focus is shifting beyond retail; we are also advancing our e-commerce and Q-commerce (quick commerce) operations. Our newly established procurement center is now functional, and we are ramping up the sourcing of local products,” he mentioned.
In tandem with its retail growth, Lulu is venturing into local manufacturing, with intentions to boost meat and vegetable processing. "We are dedicated to enhancing our manufacturing and processing capacities to bolster the local economy and fulfill the increasing demand for quality products," asserted Yusuff Ali.
Addressing foreign investment in the Sultanate, he urged international investors to consider Oman, highlighting its evolving business landscape. “Oman is consistently improving its regulatory framework and simplifying business operations. With its transparent policies and clear guidelines, now is an outstanding time for foreign investors to come and explore available opportunities,” he stated.
