Upon HM Directives, State Council To Open 2nd Annual Sitting Of 8th Term On Sunday

Muscat: In accordance with the directives issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the State Council is scheduled to convene its second regular session of the eighth term, spanning from 2023 to 2027, on the 10th of November, 2024. This date has been selected in alignment with the stipulations outlined in Article (38) of the Council of Oman Law.

The State Council plays a pivotal role in the approval or modification of legislative drafts, as well as in the deliberation of development strategies and the formulation of the State’s comprehensive budget.

As a key collaborator in the domestic development process, the State Council aims to fulfill its responsibilities through a variety of activities conducted during its regular sessions, joint sessions, and the meetings of its principal bureau (State Council Office) or its permanent committees, sub-committees, and specialized committees.
