Muscat: The Ear Diseases and Surgery Team, represented by Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, has successfully initiated the Cochlear Implant and Bone Hearing Aids Program. This program is designed to offer advanced therapeutic services aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals experiencing hearing loss. The program's launch was preceded by extensive preparation and collaboration among the ear surgery team, audiologists, balance specialists, speech therapists, and teams from the psychology and anesthesia departments, as well as the radiology department.
The objective of the Ear Diseases and Surgery Team at the University Medical City through this program is to elevate the standard of services provided to the community while also improving the educational and medical training opportunities for students of the colleges of medicine and health sciences and trainee doctors affiliated with the Oman Medical Specialty Board in the Ear, Nose, and Throat Program.
With the establishment of this program, the Ear Diseases and Surgery Team aims to create a specialized unit dedicated to providing hearing rehabilitation solutions both locally and internationally, positioning itself as a premier destination for medical education in the Sultanate of Oman.
