Muscat: On Tuesday, a delegation from the Federal Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embarked on a visit to the Supreme Judicial Council in Muscat, where they meticulously examined the Council's contributions to the development of the judicial and justice systems.
This visit was a component of a broader initiative aimed at understanding the functions of GCC supreme courts and courts of cassation.
During the visit, Sayyid Khalifa bin Said Al Busaidi, the Chairman of the Supreme Court, and Falah Shaya Al Hajri, a Judge at the UAE Federal Supreme Court and the leader of the visiting delegation, engaged in a comprehensive discussion on various facets of judicial cooperation.
Both parties expressed appreciation for the depth of bilateral relations and the cordial connections that exist between the peoples of Oman and the UAE.
Following the meeting, the delegation proceeded with a tour of the Supreme Court's facilities and attended a briefing on the procedures for filing lawsuits.
Furthermore, Issa Hamad Al Azri, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Judicial Council, conducted a meeting with the visiting delegation to discuss opportunities for collaboration in judicial and legislative matters. The delegation also had the opportunity to view a presentation on the Supreme Judicial Council's strategic plan and its role in ensuring the delivery of justice and the strengthening of the rule of law.
Additionally, Attorney General Nasr Khamis Al Sawa’ee explored possibilities for collaboration between the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE in the areas of public prosecution, investigation, and judicial actions.
