Two Workshops Held As Part Of GCC Green Mobility Forum

Salalah: As part of the Gulf Green Mobility Forum, the Ministry of Transportation, Communications, and Information Technology hosted two workshops today.

The conference, which will be attended by specialists from Oman and other GCC countries, will focus on encouraging the transition to a sustainable transportation system.

The first workshop (titled Green Corridors between GCC Ports) looked at global practices for implementing the idea of green corridors and potential for improving marine connection between GCC nations.

The workshop also emphasized initiatives to reduce carbon emissions in the marine transport industry in accordance with International Maritime Organization rules. It emphasized the goals of national carbon neutrality (Net Zero) policies.

The second workshop, titled "GCC Youth Leading Change in Sustainable Mobility," focused on ways to increase awareness among GCC youngsters about the significance of electric mobility. Vehicles as a step toward transitioning to sustainable energy. It featured conversation sessions on imparting practical knowledge of electric vehicle-related technology and how it contributes to sustainability goals. It also examined ways to create a network of sustainability and technology-interested organizations throughout the area.

The seminar focused on experiences driving electric vehicles. It details their benefits, the operation of charging stations, and a simulation of vehicle charging. This gave participants a tangible example of the technology's enormous potential, encouraging its uptake.

During the session, a youth challenge was introduced to develop initiatives to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in the areas of knowledge and technology innovation.
