The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Muscat has recently signed ten contracts under the usufruct system to initiate various projects across different wilayats and governorates in Oman, totaling an investment cost exceeding OMR 6 million.
His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, represented the Ministry during the signing of the contracts alongside investors and representatives from the involved companies.
The projects encompass the development of a 3-star hotel and a tourist rest house in Salalah, a tourist camp in Al-Khudf area in Thumrait, a 3-star tourist resort in Shalim and the Al-Halaniyyat Islands, a 3-star hotel, an adventure center, and a luxury tourist camp in Barkat Al-Sharaf, a 3-star resort in Misfat Al Abriyyin, a tourist camp in Wadi Mastal, a tourist camp in Nakhal, and a tourist camp in Jaalan Bani Bu Ali.
Amira Bint Iqbal Al Lawati, Director General of Tourism Development at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, emphasized that these contracts are part of the ongoing investment program aimed at enhancing the tourism sector throughout Oman. The projects are expected to have a positive economic and social impact by creating job opportunities, supporting local communities, and expanding the accommodation options in line with the comprehensive tourism development plan.
Muslim bin Ahmed Al Hadary, the proprietor of the Al-Jusoor Al-Mania Resort venture in the Wilayat of Salalah in the Dhofar Governorate, has expressed that the project encompasses well-crafted chalets that perfectly complement the essence of the Dhofar Governorate. These chalets will offer a diverse range of tourism choices for visitors, thereby bolstering the tourism and economic sectors in the Wilayat of Salalah. Additionally, the project will play a pivotal role in fostering investment and enhancing the tourism landscape in the wilayat, owing to its strategic positioning.
Salem bin Sareed, the proprietor of the Jabal Shams Hotel venture in the Al Hamra wilayat of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, expressed that the undertaking encompasses the establishment of a three-star hotel and a training facility for mountain expeditions. This initiative will play a significant role in showcasing the region and its diverse array of adventures, including mountains, valleys, and mountain trails that connect Al Dakhiliyah Governorate with other governorates.
Furthermore, the facility will offer valuable information to adventure enthusiasts regarding the proper protocols that tourists must adhere to while engaging in adventure sports. Additionally, it will collaborate with various relevant authorities that provide safety measures, ensuring the well-being of all participants.
