“Summer Of The Future” Program Continues At UTAS–Al Mussanah With Strong Community Engagement

The University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Al Mussanah is still running its "Summer of the Future" program, which has received significant participation from a variety of community groups. The program demonstrates the university's strong dedication to its social mission and critical role in human development.

This effort is part of a larger series of community-centered programs established by the university to improve youth life skills, cultivate innovation, and foster entrepreneurship, in line with a distinct vision that sees education as a means to build a capable generation that contributes significantly to national development.

Dr. Nasser Salem Al Baimani, Assistant Vice Chancellor of UTAS–Al Mussanah, stated that the university plays an important part in promoting comprehensive development by providing educational and training programs that meet community needs. "The Summer of the Future program is a practical expression of the university's societal responsibility. We see education as a tool for developing both individuals and society," he said. He emphasized that community involvement is a top priority, especially in the South Al Batinah Governorate, which has significant developmental potential that will need coordinated academic and societal efforts.

Dr. Al Baimani also mentioned the university's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as encouraging scientific research that addresses local concerns and supports sustainable development. He emphasized that these efforts help to develop national talents capable of contributing to the construction of a sustainable knowledge economy, in line with Oman Vision 2040.

He ended by reaffirming the university's commitment to increasing its societal effect through strategic collaborations and dynamic programs that adapt to fast changing circumstances and invest in young minds—the true foundation of any sustainable renaissance.

As the program progresses, it will provide a broad variety of technical, soft, and creative workshops that are customized to the participants' needs and interests. This diversity increases the initiative's overall positive impact, both personally and socially.

With increasing momentum, UTAS–Al Mussanah intends to broaden this significant effort through robust partnerships with civil society, the public sector, and the commercial sector, ensuring long-term value and contributing to a unified knowledge-driven society in which nontraditional education plays a critical role in supporting Oman’s modern development.
