Muscat: On Sunday, the State Council convened with the Ministry of Finance to discuss the draft budget for 2025.
During the session, Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, emphasized that the Council enhances economic development legislation through various constructive studies and proposals, thereby advancing comprehensive development in the Sultanate of Oman.
Additionally, Abdullah Salim Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, delivered a presentation outlining the nation’s financial and economic indicators, the government's initiatives to enhance these metrics, the credit rating of the Sultanate of Oman, anticipated outcomes of the general budget for the fiscal year 2024, as well as projections for the draft general budget for 2025 and the status of public debt.
The discussion also covered the trends in both the global and local economies for 2024, along with growth indicators across all sectors of economic diversification for the current year in various development areas.
