Salalah: The Omani Society of Emergency Medicine (OSEM) has organized a three-day international conference, focusing on the latest advancements in both scientific and practical approaches to managing various emergency scenarios.
More than 40 specialists, hailing from both Oman and international locations, have been invited to participate in this event, which is being hosted by the Directorate General of Health Services in the Dhofar Governorate.
The conference delves into research on crisis and disaster preparedness, highlighting the integration of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the efficiency of emergency departments, with a particular emphasis on the role of nursing in addressing infectious emergencies.
The conference agenda features a health exhibition, which displays the findings of 20 research papers authored by emergency medicine specialists from across the globe.
Additionally, a roadshow, organized by institutions in support of the conference, showcases the most advanced technologies and medical devices utilized in emergency departments.
The conference schedule includes six comprehensive training workshops, covering a wide range of topics in emergency medicine. This includes an introductory course in clinical toxicology and a specialized training program for managing emergencies in both children and adults.
Special workshops have been allocated for training on the management of critical eye-care cases, the utilization of ultrasound technology, and the analysis of electrocardiograms in critical situations.
The conference kicked off with an opening ceremony, presided over by Dr. Said Harib Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs. During the ceremony, the chief guest expressed his congratulations to the participants and supporters of the conference.
