Muscat: The Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) has today convened its third dialogue session, focusing on the development of the health sector.
ASMED is dedicated to achieving several key objectives, including enhancing the business environment to make it more appealing to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), fostering the development of supportive policies, motivating entrepreneurs to propose innovative strategies for the enhancement of economic sectors, and identifying promising opportunities.
The session, entitled “Enhancing SME Investment in the Health Sector,” provided a comprehensive overview of the future trends in investment within the health sector.
By the end of October 2024, ASMED's records indicate the registration of 2,363 SMEs within the health sector. Additionally, the statistics reveal the presence of 1,908 microenterprises, 398,000 SMEs, and 57 medium-sized enterprises.
The dialogue session was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, Halima Rashid Al Zari, Chairperson of ASMED, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmiaas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Khalid bin Salim Al Ghamarias, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour, and Eng. Badr Salim Al Maamari, Secretary General of the Tender Board. Attendees also included owners of small and medium enterprises engaged in health sector activities and related endeavors.
