Shutterbugs On A Desert Mission

Muscat: A gathering of individuals who share a love for photography is coming together in the Omani desert. Their aim is to capture the ever-changing shapes of the vast expanse of sand throughout the day on Friday.

Known as FSO (Friday Shoot Out), this group consists of photography enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals. They are celebrating their 11th anniversary with a series of exciting events.

In addition to their anniversary celebrations, the group is organizing a desert photography workshop. This workshop aims to enhance the skills of its members and take their passion for photography to new heights.

The activities planned for the event include not only the workshop, but also photography exhibitions, competitions, and a family get-together with games and cultural activities. Photography will be the central focus of these events.

The main objective of FSO is to promote photography as a hobby. They encourage photography enthusiasts to pursue their passion and improve their skills by exploring scenic locations throughout the Sultanate.

Vinod Kumar, the representative of the FSO, stated that our organization achieves this through the implementation of workshops encompassing both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on sessions. Established in 2012, FSO is now on the verge of completing its 11th year since its inception. We take immense pride in the fact that the photographs captured by our talented members have received prestigious awards and have been featured in numerous local and international exhibitions.

Furthermore, Vinod Kumar emphasized that we have been able to accomplish all of this with the invaluable support of the private sector. This collaboration enables us to reach our goals and extend assistance to the community.

In addition to our endeavors, we will be distributing a coffee table book featuring the captivating photographs taken by our members in Oman. This book will be made available in hotels, restaurants, and bookstalls. Moreover, a 2024 calendar showcasing the remarkable photos captured by our members will also be circulated.
