Muscat: On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the Shura Council will welcome Dr. Mahad Said Ba'owain, the Minister of Labour, to engage in discussions regarding "Temporary Employment Initiatives."
This meeting is part of the Council’s third regular session during the second sitting of its 10th Term.
Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, stated that the minister's appearance aligns with Article 68 of the Council of Oman Law and Article 56 of the Shura Council Law.
Al Nadabi highlighted that the agenda will focus on the results of implementing various types of temporary government employment contracts, as well as the ministry's strategies for enhancing these contracts. Additionally, the meeting will address the outcomes of different employment contracts in the private sector and the challenges encountered by the ministry.
He further noted that the session will evaluate the Ministry’s assessment of both the positive and negative effects of temporary employment initiatives on the work environment and the national workforce in Oman, encompassing both public and private sectors.
Moreover, the session will consider several draft laws submitted by the government, including legislation concerning the collection of State dues and the rights of individuals with disabilities.
