The Men's Selection Committee in Mumbai, India, has revealed a 15-member squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe for the five-match T20I series, commencing on July 6.

Shubman Gill has been appointed as the captain for the tour and will lead a fresh India team for the T20I series against Zimbabwe in early July post the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

India is scheduled to travel to Harare in the first week of July to take part in a 5-match T20I series against the hosts, as stated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an official announcement.
Following the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday, India will turn its attention to the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, kicking off on July 6 with the first match at Harare Sports Club.

The squad comprises only two players from the primary T20 World Cup squad: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson. The remaining members of the T20 WC squad have been given a break.

Players like Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed, who are on the reserves list of the T20 World Cup touring party, have also been included in the squad.

Several talented young players who have showcased their skills in both the Indian Premier League and domestic cricket in the past year have been given the opportunity to represent India. Alongside the well-known international players, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Riyan Parag, and Tushar Deshpande have earned their first call-ups to the national team after their impressive performances in the IPL 2024 season. The team also includes two spin options in Ravi Bishnoi and Washington Sundar.

Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Deshpande, and Khaleel Ahmed form a formidable pace attack. Nitish Reddy, a pace-bowling all-rounder, has been fast-tracked into the team due to his outstanding season with the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Dhruv Jurel and Sanju Samson, who have yet to play in a T20 World Cup match, will be competing for a place in the starting lineup.

The five-match series will commence on July 6 at the Harare Sports Club, with the second match taking place at the same venue the following day. The final T20I will be held on July 14, also at the Harare Sports Club.

India's squad for the T20I series against Zimbabwe includes Shubman Gill (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Nitish Reddy, Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, and Tushar Deshpande.
