SAS 48 Hackathon On Green Technologies Kicks Off

Muscat: The 6th edition of the "SAS 48 Hackathon" commenced in Muscat today with the theme of "Green Tech". This event was organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, the opening ceremony took place.

The hackathon is aimed at entrepreneurs and experts in the fields of logistics, agriculture and food, renewable energy, environment, and joint sectors.

Throughout the event, teams will collaborate to develop innovative and practical solutions that utilize green technology to address various environmental challenges. The codefest aims to enhance the utilization of electric vehicles to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, while also achieving high energy efficiency and accurately determining the water and nutrient requirements of plants.

Particularly, participants will explore methods to increase productivity, enhance and monitor food supply chains, minimize food waste, and improve the efficiency of resources such as water, energy, and raw materials.

The SAS 48 Hackathon offers excellent opportunities for participants to devise realistic solutions to overcome the challenges faced by their projects. The jury will select the top three winners who present the most innovative ideas from a pool of 1,163 participants competing in the 6th edition of the SAS 48 Hackathon.
