Muscat: In collaboration with Germany’s Falling Walls Foundation, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation has announced that registration for the Falling Walls Lab Oman 2025 will open on Monday (19 May) and continue until 19 June.

The Falling Walls Lab serves as a global platform for showcasing innovative concepts and research projects across multiple disciplines. Its goal is to foster and enhance connections among exceptional researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, professionals, and investors. The lab organizes an annual event that welcomes enthusiastic individuals from various countries who have an interest in science to exchange their cultures and experiences.

Individuals from all fields of innovation and research are welcome to apply. The competition is open to those holding a bachelor’s degree (who graduated within the last 10 years), a master’s degree (who graduated within the last 7 years), and a PhD (who graduated within the last 5 years). Additionally, current undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students can also register. Applications for participation must be exclusively submitted in English.

The winner will have the chance to represent Oman at the global finals of Falling Walls Lab, which is set to take place from 5-9 November in Berlin, Germany.

Participants are required to deliver a three-minute PowerPoint presentation showcasing a research project, innovative idea, social initiative, or entrepreneurial venture, persuading a panel of experts from academia, research institutions, and the business sector of the concept’s importance.

This year marks the tenth time Oman has taken part in the competition. In the most recent event, 62 ideas and projects were submitted, with 20 advancing to the local finals. Three winners were chosen to represent Oman in Berlin.
