"Really Important That Club Get That Right": Maguire Issues Warning To Manchester United About Summer Signings

Mumbai: Manchester United defender Harry Maguire stressed the importance of making the correct acquisitions in the next summer transfer window, as the club ended the season on a disastrous note.

Manchester United finished 15th in the Premier League, their lowest result in the competition's history. Manchester United recorded their lowest-ever points total in the Premier League, with 42. The Red Devils had one more chance at recompense in the Europa League final, but their local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, denied them.

It has been a challenging season. It has been difficult. We haven't been excellent enough. We accept responsibility for our decisions as players. We played under two separate managers, and the outcomes have not been great enough, Maguire stated to journalists.

With no European football next season and only domestic cups to compete for, Maguire stressed the importance of the summer transfer window, which begins on June 1.

According to the experienced English defender, the club and manager, Ruben Amorim, must make the appropriate additions while also deciding which players should seek a new club.

So, our players are taking responsibility, and this will be a busy summer. I'm certain that some players will leave, and others will sign. So it is critical for the club to get that right. Whoever they're considering of letting go and keeping, according to the manager, is most likely up to him.

It's extremely crucial that they get it properly, and, of course, we'll need a lot of recruitment as well. We need bodies to come in and assist the crew and improve performance. I believe that this year we have seen that we have not scored enough goals. So it has been difficult. So, we must all improve for next season, he stated.

His compatriot, Diogo Dalot, detailed his experience of moving from his preferred right position to left, which was unknown to him.

Due to the unavailability of Manchester United's preferred players, the Portuguese right-back had to move to the left side of defence. Despite initially struggling to cope with the pressures of the position, Dalot feels he has now acclimatized.

I'm used to it by now. Obviously, I feel more at ease on the right since I grew up and played more there. But, according to him, you must be able to do other things throughout your career and strive for fullness.

I believe it is beneficial for the team, as well as for managers to have other possibilities. So, as soon as I began on the left, I made certain to get comfortable. "And I think today it's usual for me," he remarked.
