Projects Worth Over OMR4bn Complete, Under Execution In Salalah Free Zone

Dr. Ali Mohammed Tabouk, the esteemed CEO of the Salalah Free Zone, has disclosed that industrial activities constitute the predominant sector within the zone, accounting for the highest percentage of projects. He further elaborated, stating, "A remarkable 75 industrial projects, collectively boasting an investment volume exceeding OMR4.2 billion, are either operational or in the process of implementation."

The inaugural session of the Salalah Future Industries Forum, hosted by the Salalah Free Zone, commenced on Tuesday within the Wilayat of Salalah, located in the Dhofar Governorate. This two-day event is dedicated to fostering investment and economic development.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, the Governor of Dhofar, who paid tribute to the speakers and supporters of the forum.

In collaboration with the Tazeez International Foundation, the forum will concentrate on the petrochemicals, food processing, and pharmaceutical industries. The event will feature visual displays aimed at showcasing investment opportunities, comparative advantages, and emerging sectors within the Dhofar Governorate.

The forum will also host three working papers presented during discussion panels. The first paper will address the infrastructure, logistical advantages, and investment opportunities within the petrochemical sector of Salalah.

The second paper will explore the role of Salalah in attracting global investments within the food industry.

The third paper will delve into the potential for high returns on investment in the pharmaceutical sector of Salalah, highlighting the area's proximity to emerging markets and international shipping lines.

The forum will feature a variety of visual presentations on maintaining the sustainability of companies operating within the labor market, fostering innovation, and the benefits of investment in the Sultanate of Oman.

Participants will have the opportunity to undertake field visits to industrial projects within the Salalah Free Zone.
