Muscat: On Wednesday, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, welcomed Carl Sacco, Deputy Executive Director General and Director of Operations at the World Food Programme (WFP).
The discussion focused on the collaborative efforts between the Sultanate of Oman and the UN Programme, with an emphasis on identifying opportunities for further enhancement.
Sacco praised Oman's proactive stance in addressing regional challenges and its commitment to providing food assistance to nations impacted by conflict and war.
Sheikh Khalifa acknowledged the significant contributions of the World Food Programme (WFP) in supporting vulnerable populations in Gaza, Yemen, and Syria.
The meeting was also attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Qatabi, Head of the International Organizations Department, and Dr. Abdullah Al Wardat, Director of Government Partnerships and the WFP Programme in Lebanon.
