Muscat: The Pakistani envoy to Oman, His Excellency Imran Ali, on Wednesday mentioned that the individuals involved in the July 15 shootout in Muscat were not connected to Pakistan at all.
In a tweet (then X), Ali stated, “The three assailants had no ties to Pakistan.” He further commented, "The Embassy has been doing everything in its power to assist the affected individuals and hopes for their quick recovery."
Ali also highlighted that the deceased individuals attempted to rescue others. "This was not an attack aimed at Pakistan," he declared. In total, four Pakistani citizens lost their lives during the altercation. "The remains of two individuals are being dispatched to Pakistan tomorrow," Ali mentioned.
Regarding the police officer who passed away, Ali expressed, "He was the one who shut down the mosque doors. Had he not taken this action, more lives could have been lost."
