Pakistan navy vessel visits Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat

Muscat: In line with Pakistan Navy's commitment to regional security and its role as a globally-oriented force, Pakistan Navy Ship Aslat (with an embarked helicopter) made a visit to Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat from February 09 to 12, 2022.

This visit was part of a goodwill initiative during the Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP), which aims to maintain a presence in critical sea lanes to contribute to regional maritime security and ensure freedom of navigation.

During their stay in port, the ship hosted a reception on board, adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instructions issued by the Supreme Committee dealing with COVID-19. The reception was attended by diplomats, including ambassadors and military attaches from various countries, as well as senior officers from the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and prominent members of the Pakistani community.

Officers and personnel from the Royal Navy of Oman visited the ship for professional briefings and interaction.

The purpose of the ship's visit was to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Sultanate of Oman and Pakistan, particularly between the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and Pakistan Navy. It also aimed to explore new opportunities for future collaborative initiatives between the two brotherly countries.

On February 12, the ship sailed onward to participate in the sea phase of the International Maritime Exercise 2022 (IMX 22) conducted off Muscat.
