MUSCAT: The Social Protection Fund (SPF) has successfully distributed family income support benefits to over 53,000 recipients, providing essential financial aid to those who qualify.
As reported by the fund, the total number of eligible cases reached 53,072 by February, with disbursements surpassing OMR 8 million. Among these, 30,810 were newly approved cases, while 22,262 were existing beneficiaries who continue to receive social security pensions.
Since the application period commenced on October 20, 2024, the fund has received 31,375 applications for eligibility, highlighting the considerable demand for financial assistance among Omani families.
The Social Protection Fund remains committed to improving social welfare and delivering targeted support to those in need, aligning with the nation’s broader social security objectives.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has allocated a Royal grant exceeding OMR 178 million to bolster the social and economic well-being of various segments of society.
