Muscat: By mid-April 2025, the Tender Board's Secretariat General reported that the "Esnad" platform had 17,523 registered companies, which consisted of 9,717 local businesses and 3,371 international ones.
Among these, 4,352 were classified as small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in addition to other types of entities, including property owners.
As of mid-April, a total of 3,510 tenders had been released on the platform, with 2,145 local tenders, 90 international tenders, and over 1,127 specifically for SMEs.
Since its inception, the platform has successfully allocated over 19,000 tenders, with 1,564 tenders distributed from the start of 2025 until mid-April. Local firms secured 818 tenders, international companies obtained 6, and SMEs received 740 tenders.
Turki Sulaiman Al Hasani, the General Director of Statistics and Information Systems, mentioned that "Esnad" acts as a comprehensive national platform that streamlines procedures, minimizes change orders, and guarantees adherence to approved budgets, thereby improving the execution of government projects.
He pointed out that numerous companies have reaped the benefits of this platform, fostering greater participation and promoting equitable opportunities, especially for SMEs.
Al Hasani highlighted that the platform enhances the effectiveness of government expenditure by incorporating the finest local, regional, and global practices, optimizing financial resources, and bolstering the objectives of sustainable economic development.
Engineer Said Hamad Al Amri, the General Director of Tenders, noted that by the conclusion of March 2025, the Tender Board had awarded tenders totaling OMR203 million. He reported that in the first quarter of 2025, 26 tenders had been issued with an overall value of OMR400 million.
