Over 1,200 Expats Deported From Oman In May

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour (Mol) reported that over 1,200 expatriates were expelled from the Sultanate of Oman in May 2024 due to different infractions.

The Ministry of Labour, through the Office of the Joint Inspection Team in the General Directorate of Labour Welfare, along with the assistance of the Inspection Unit of the Security and Safety Services Corporation, apprehended a total of 1,725 workers and expelled 1,260 workers in May 2024.

In order to align with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, the Ministry is intensifying its inspection campaigns on private sector establishments and the expatriate workforce across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. This is being done to ensure proper regulation of the labor market.
