Muscat: The Oman Tennis Association (OTA) is preparing to host its second monthly tournament for the current season, scheduled to take place at the tennis courts of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, commencing on Saturday.
This tournament will encompass a variety of competitions for junior categories, including under-8, under-10, under-12, under-14, and under-18 divisions for both male and female participants. In addition, it will feature events for singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
The inaugural tournament concluded recently, witnessing intense competition across various categories and drawing in nearly 100 participants from diverse age groups. The association's objective is to elevate the technical proficiency of young athletes and to offer regular tournaments to foster their development.
Furthermore, the coaching staff of the national teams sees this tournament as an opportunity to evaluate the technical abilities of players through their participation in multiple matches. The tournament has also garnered considerable interest from the expatriate communities in Oman, with many expressing a keen desire to take part.
