Ibra: Today, the Omani Society for Writers and Literati has successfully hosted an international conference entitled "Utilizing Heritage in Omani Literature." This event was organized in collaboration with the Office of the Governor of North Al Sharqiyah and Al Sharqiyah University.
During the conference, participants advocated for the establishment of a "Studies and Research Centre for Human Sciences," which would be dedicated to the exploration of both tangible and intangible heritage. Furthermore, there was a recommendation to incorporate "folk literature" into the syllabi of Arabic language courses at higher education institutions. Additionally, the attendees proposed the creation of an "Award for the Best Academic Research Specialized in Omani Heritage."
The conference's primary focus was on the integration of heritage into Omani literature, with presentations on narrative readings and models of novels, blogs, poetic and literary works. It highlighted the intellectual contributions of Omani thinkers, writers, and authors from various historical periods.
