Muscat: In response to the requests made by the Iranian and Swedish governments, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has directed Omani authorities to assist in resolving the issue of detained citizens in both countries. As a result of Oman's efforts, an agreement has been reached between the two sides for the mutual release of these individuals.
Today, on 15 June 2024, those who have been released were transported from Tehran and Stockholm to Muscat, where they will be repatriated.
The Sultanate of Oman highly values the positive atmosphere that characterized the discussions held in Muscat between the Iranian and Swedish delegations. Oman also commends their commitment to resolving this humanitarian matter.
