Oman, UK Explore Means Of Boosting Cooperation

Muscat—Today, David Lammy, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, was welcomed by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, in his office.

Both ministers expressed a mutual commitment to advancing cooperation across various areas and finding ways to enhance these efforts for their mutual benefit.

They also acknowledged the necessity for ongoing dialogue, coordination, and collaboration in all endeavors aimed at bolstering regional security, stability, and peace. Additionally, they expressed support for resolving conflicts through diplomatic channels and dialogue, which would facilitate greater advantages for all nations and their populations.

The Foreign Minister emphasized Oman's backing of negotiations aimed at completing a free trade agreement between the GCC nations and the United Kingdom.

Present at the meeting were Munthir Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Sir Oliver Robbins, the Permanent Under-Secretary at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, along with Dr. Lianne Sanders, the UK Ambassador to Oman.
