Oman Team Performs Well At World Military Skydiving Event

The National Skydiving Team of the Royal Army of Oman emerged victorious in the Arab and Gulf countries categories, securing first place. Additionally, they clinched third place in Asia and tenth place globally at the 2024 World Military Skydiving Championship (SESM) held in Sölnok, Hungary. The competition spanned over 10 days.

The forty-sixth edition of the World Military Skydiving Championship (SESM) saw over 400 jumpers from more than 40 countries participating. The national skydiving team showcased exceptional skills and competitiveness throughout the various rounds of the championship.

The participants demonstrated high levels of technical proficiency and precision in hitting their targets.

The involvement of the National Free Jumping Team is part of the strategic plans set by the leadership of the Royal Army of Oman to excel in military sports competitions, elevate performance standards, enhance physical fitness, and improve technical abilities on both regional and international platforms.

Lieutenant Colonel Saif bin Salem Al-Tobi, the head of the National Skydiving Team delegation, stated, "Our team competed against 45 other teams from across the globe. We began our training in Oman, then proceeded to an external training camp in Slovenia before participating in the European Cup Championship (Bled) in preparation for this prestigious event."

He further highlighted the team's dedication and commendable performance during the championship, achieving notable success at both regional and global levels.
