Oman Suspends Work In Several Governorates, Including Muscat, Due To Unstable Weather Conditions

Muscat: In light of predictions for substantial rainfall, anticipated to range from 40 to 90 millimeters, the National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) has declared a suspension of operations and academic activities in various governorates throughout the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

This decision, derived from information provided by the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, will impact both public and private entities within the governorates of Muscat, South Al Sharqiyah, and North Al Sharqiyah.

Conversely, in other locales such as Al Wusta, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Buraimi, educational pursuits will proceed remotely to ensure the safety of students while preserving the continuity of their academic journey.

This proactive step is designed to mitigate the potential hazards linked to the anticipated unstable weather conditions.
